Our aim is to see children and young people rooted and established in their faith as life-long followers of Jesus Christ.
As a church family, in support of parents we love sharing with the next generation the good news of Jesus Christ, equipping them to love and serve him in all they do. What a great task!
Whether you have been here for many years, or you are new and finding out more, you and your children are welcome here. At HT, families work is at the heart of who we are, from Sunday mornings, to holiday clubs, to reading the bible in small groups there is lots for you and your children to participate in and be a part of. The team involved in this work are brilliant, dedicated, DBS checked and trained in safeguarding.
Here you will see a small window into what we are doing. On behalf of all the team, we can’t wait to see you soon. James
James is the Children’s and Youth Minister at Holy Trinity, he is married to Wenna, and they have a daughter, Jemima. James has been attending Holy Trinity since a boy.
It has been a really strange season for us, and for our children and youth.
We have continued to meet together, providing virtual groups for them. The main reason is to continue to show them, point them to God who is still in control and whose Son is still King, plus we think the kids and youth are a pretty awesome bunch!
Below you will find information on what we “normally” do; but whilst we are in this season, it is a bit different. You can be assured that before children’s and youth groups will resume, we will be following all the formal guidance on risk assessments and following the guidance issued by the Church of England and the National Youth Agency.
We recognise that this time will have been an intense experience for your children. We hope and believe that by continuing to meeting, virtually to begin with, and face to face, will help secure our kids and youth in the greatest security we can hope for or imagine – in the care and love of God, made known to us in Jesus Christ.
Rooted Kids will be continuing to meet virtually via Zoom until after half-term. If you want information on how you can register your child to be involved, and details for Zoom, please contact the church office.
We hope to resume face to face youth group on Sunday 4th October. Until then, we are encouraging our youth to come and participate in the church services on a Sunday morning. If you would like information on how to register your child for youth group, or to ask any questions, please contact the church office.
Currently, Mini-Roots is not meeting on a Sunday morning, Bluebirds is not meeting on a Thursday and we haven’t began our midweek groups. We hope to resume these as soon as we can, but before then, children of any age are very welcome to attend the church services with you on a Sunday morning. We recommend bringing some colouring, books or quiet toys for the service.
We gather together at the start of each service and then join our groups to be taught from God’s word, the bible in engaging and fun ways alongside our friends.
Mini-Roots is our group for pre-school children. We encourage families to leave the children with the leaders, but parents of 0-2s often stay in which is absolutely fine!
Here the children learn the truth from the bible in stories, song and play.
Rooted Kids is for children in infant and junior school. Children are dropped off and picked up from their groups by their families. The groups are fun and engaging as we learn the truth of God’s word through story, song, drama, games and discussion.
Roots Youth is for young people in secondary school. Some teenagers come along on a Sunday by themselves, whilst others attend with their parents. Here we dig into God’s word and enjoy discussion, whilst applying God’s word to our lives.
We have a number of opportunities to gather as a church family during the week and here are some of those ways for children and young people.
Bluebirds is a toddler group that meets in term time on Thursday morning’s in the church centre. It is a great time to catch up with other parents whilst your children enjoy playing games, doing crafts, and singing songs. We love to hear a story from the bible too.
Jesus said to, “go and make disciples… teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” We long to equip our children and young people in how to read and apply God’s word for themselves. Small group bible reading is a great chance to do that!
Our prayer for Holy Trinity is to run regular mid-week groups for boys and girls where they can enjoy building great friendships, and hear the best news ever about Jesus.
We hope to begin these during the Autumn Term of 2020.
Each year we want to encourage our kids at church, and those in our town with the good news of Jesus, it’s wacky, check out this summer’s edition…
